WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER MIX REQUESTS

Apropos of nothing political:

I drove by the Marlboro, New Jersey, volunteer fire department this morning. Evidently, they are in need of new members. They are also in need of turkeys which will be given out to the needy on Thanksgiving.

These are two very noble efforts. But, it seems evident to me, they do not mix well when combined into a single sentiment.

Why do I say this?  Well, here is what has  been put on the sign which graces the front of the firehouse. building.  See if you agree:

HELP

WANTED

NEED

TURKEYS

Maybe it\’s just me…but, somehow I think these two requests could have been positioned a tad more favorably.

Ok, back to politics, where , all too often, we wind up with turkeys – not just for Thanksgiving, but for the entire year, every year.
