I think I have to change President Obama\’s name to President WaldObama. Because, like Waldo, you can\’t find him in any of the places a reasonable person would expect him to be.
-Our airstrikes having proved worthless, ISIS is poised to massacre the citizens of Kobani, Syria – as Turkish troops, part of the “coalition” President Obama claimed he put together, are massed on the other side of the border close enough to watch it happen, yet ordered to stand down and do nothing to stop it. But was he meeting with his military and intelligence staff, or the State Department last week to figure out what to do about it? Nope.
–According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the ebola crisis is the “most severe acute health emergency in modern times”. But was he meeting with his Heath and Human Services people, or the State Department last week to figure out what to do about it? Nope.
-We have been warned in so many words by ISIS and its affiliated terrorist colleagues that the USA is going to be hit, and soon. Our borders, however, remain entirely porous – as if the only people who would use that porosity to cross into the country are poor, unaccompanied illegal minors. But was he meeting with our Military, or State Department, or Homeland Security, or our Border patrol people, or our National Guard to figure out what to do about it? Nope.
-ObamaCare insurance rates are about to jump up, and hundreds of thousands of (the still limited number of) people who have insurance they prefer to ObamaCare will be forced to drop it, because it does not comply with the ridiculous provisions of the law (such as required maternity care – even for men and for women past child-bearing age). But was he meeting with his Health and Human Services people to figure out what to do about it? Nope.
Last week, as the world continued to fall apart, President Obama spent his days fundraising in New York and California, and being fawned over by the richest of rich Democrats – as he enunciated his message that, unlike Republicans, Democrats of the common people. And Sunday? He played his 200th round of golf as President – golf being much more important than any of that trivial stuff mentioned above.
If you wanted to find a serious President, you would have found him in those meetings.
If you wanted to find President WaldObama, you would have found him at those fundraisers and then on the golf course.
I hope he enjoyed the adulation at those fundraisers and on the links.
Speaking for myself, though, I look forward to January 20, 2017, when he can go anywhere he wants but the Oval Office.
