I’ll make this short (I have to – I’ll be in a meeting for most of this morning):
Donald Trump wants Paul Ryan on board.
Paul Ryan needs the support of Donald Trump – or at least the appearance that he has it – to stay Speaker of the House if Trump wins, maybe even just to win his primary and be in the House at the time.
Therefore, the odds are excellent that their meeting will result in a truce of some kind, however uncomfortable, in which Ryan saves some face (Trump has made it clear he doesn’t worry about things like this).
We’ll see….
