I’ve already reposted one blog today. And I think I’m going to repost another – this one exactly a half-year old.
It concerns the uselessness of Attorney General Jeff Sessions (does he still have that title? Has anyone seen him lately?), and the anti-Trump agenda of his de facto replacement, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
Here it is. See if you agree with me that the points it makes are as relevant now as they were last November:
TIME TO REMOVE ROD ROSENSTEIN AS ATTORNEY GENERAL
NOVEMBER 3, 2017
BY KEN BERWITZ
Rod Rosenstein, it turns out, is a lousy Attorney General – one who seems more and more like a member of Independent Counsel Robert Mueller’s staff than the chief law enforcement officer of the country.
Yes, I know that, at least in title, Jeff Sessions is the Attorney General and Rosenstein reports to him. But Mr. Sessions, who may have been a decent U.S. Senator, apparently has no talent in the job he was handed by President Trump, and can easily be dissuaded from performing his duties.
Not only has Sessions been snookered into recusing himself from any involvement in Mueller’s I-can’t-find-any-collusion-so-dammit-I’ll-find-something-else wild goose chase, but now he has recused himself from any involvement in the dramatically more serious, dramatically more evidenced Uranium One Scandal as well.
From Kristina Wong’s article at breitbart.com:
Attorney General Jeff Sessions told a small group of lawmakers in late September he was recused from appointing a special counsel to look into potential corruption surrounding the Uranium One deal and Fusion GPS’s work on the Trump dossier, according to one of the lawmakers present.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) told Breitbart News on Wednesday that he and other House Judiciary Committee Republicans had met with Sessions at the Justice Department on September 28 in advance of an upcoming committee hearing with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein later this month.
Gaetz said that when he asked Sessions to appoint a special counsel to investigate the 2010 Uranium One deal and Fusion GPS, the attorney general stood up, said he could not discuss the matter because he had recused himself, and walked out of the room, leaving them with a group of Rosenstein staffers “who showed no interest.”
If the titular Attorney General of the United States is on the sidelines for these investigations, thus leaving them to the tender mercies of a subordinate who, it seems more and more clear by the day, has an agenda against the President of the United States, what in the world is he Attorney General for?
It is time – past time, actually – for Jeff Sessions to be replaced. And not by the de facto AG Rod Rosenstein either.

If Trump removes Rosenstein he opens himself up to more attacks. He would be better off to replace Sessions, then let the replacement get rid of Rosenstein.
IMO.
