Here. from yesterday\’s 1 1/2 hour rant to a stunned audience at a community college in Fort Dodge, Iowa, is Donald Trump\’s “policy” for ISIS.
After first informing his audience that he knew more about this than the generals (I would have been heading out the door right there). Trump told them:
“I would bomb the shit out of them. I would just bomb those suckers. And that\’s right, I\’d blow up the pipes. I\’d blow up the refineries. I\’d blow up every single inch. There would be nothing left, and you know what, you\’ll get Exxon to come in there, and in two months, you ever see these guys how good they are, the great oil companies? They\’ll rebuild that sucker brand new. It will be beautiful, and I\’ll take the oil. And I said I\’ll take the oil.”
First a few comments to Mr. Trump personally:
-You think you know something more than the generals? Well, i\’ll give you this much: you certainly know something different than the generals. Like, for example, how to bomb the cities, towns and villages overrun by ISIS and killing them without also killing the non-ISIS people they are victimizing. Or is your opinion that if you\’ve seen one Muslim you\’ve seen \’em all so it doesn\’t really matter?-And I congratulate you for knowing how to take smoldering ruins and – in just two months – put out all the fires, remove all the debris, then organize a work force from the populations you\’ve decimated, which will completely rebuild entire refineries “brand new”…so that the USA can then take all the oil from the refineries these workers built, leaving them with whatever crumbs Mr. “I know more than the generals” decides they should get. I\’m sure the folks in those places are champing at the bit for this wonderful opportunity.
Now, speaking to everyone else —
This is classic barroom loudmouth garbage. And, if you read about Trump\’s speech – not just the parts I\’m referencing above but all of it – you will find it is only a small portion of the utterly ridiculous, often self-contradictory, spew emanating from his mouth.
That said, there are, however, a couple of positives I can take from the Trump rant.
-One is that he was an equal-opportunity bad-mouther. Just about every Republican, along with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, was personally insulted. No one is worthy, you see, except The Donald.-Another is that, by behaving this way, Trump has given us such a clear insight into why he should never be anywhere near the White House, that – I would hope – even a large percentage of his supporters now realize as much.
Personally, I wouldn\’t even let him there on a guided tour.
