THE SUPREME COURT AND OBAMACARE: ROUND II

They\’re baa-a-a-a-a-aack.

The United States Supreme Court has agreed to hear another case that potentially could have all or part of ObamaCare declared unconstitutional.

From Mark Sherman\’s article for the Associated Press:

The justices said they will review a federal appeals court ruling that upheld IRS regulations that allow health-insurance tax credits under the Affordable Care Act for consumers in all 50 states. Opponents argue that most of the subsidies are illegal.

The long-running political and legal campaign to overturn or limit the 2010 health overhaul will be making its second appearance at the Supreme Court. The justices upheld the heart of the law in a 5-4 decision in 2012 in which Chief Justice John Roberts provided the decisive vote.

The case probably will be argued the first week in March, with a decision expected by late June.

What does this mean?

If the USSC overturns the federal appeals court is ObamaCare over?  Over only in states getting the subsidies?  Does it stay, but without the subsidies – and, if so, what does that do to premiums?

I\’m no lawyer (I\’m the family escapee from that fate – my sister and brother both are), and don\’t know how the legal machinations work.

But I do know that there will be extraordinary pressure on members of the court from both sides of this issue.

Not much to do but sit back and wonder how it will play out.
