Is Secretary Of State John Kerry stupid? Is he ignorant? Is he a liar?
The reason I ask relates to what he was telling members of the media yesterday – as al-qaeda was terrorizing the Raddison Blu hotel in Mali\’s capital city of Barako:
We\’re confident that if westay steady, and our heads in thinking creatively but also being strong andcommitted to our fundamental values. We\’re going to defeat Daesh. Wealways said it will take time. We began our fight against al-Qaeda in2001 and it took us quite a few years before we were able to eliminate Osamabin Laden and the top leadership and neutralize them as an effective force. Sohopefully we will hope to do Daesh much faster than that.
Is Mr. Kerry stupid? Could be, since – obviously – al-qaeda is not “neutralized”. It never was. In fact, ISIS is an offshoot of al-qaeda.
Is Mr. Kerry ignorant? Could be, since it is impossible to believe he does not know al-qaeda remains fully functional: what did he or President Obama ever do to make it non-functional?
Is he lying to our faces? Could be, since it certainly wouldn\’t be the first time.
Personally, I think it\’s a combination of all three.
In fact, the only thing of value in that supersedingly stupid, ignorant, lying statement is that now, instead of Mr. Kerry calling it ISIL (in keeping with the Obama administration\’s love of using different words than what most of us use, to show that they are intellectually superior to the rest of us), he is using the term “Daesh” – which is an acronym, more or less, for its arabic name: Dawlat al-Islamiyah f\’al-Iraq w Belaad al-Sham.
As I understand it, ISIShates when people use the term Daesh. So it affords me the chance to giveat least a tiny bit of credit to Kerry for his otherwise ridiculous blathering.
Too bad that\’s the only reason I can do so.
