Today’s quote comes to us from Nikki Haley, former Governor of South Carolina and, currently, our Ambassador to the United Nations.

Speaking of our missile strikes (coordinated with the UK and France, ok’ed by NATO) on Syria chemical weapons assets, Ambassador Haley said this:

“When our president draws a red line, our president enforces the red line.”

That, of course, is a direct reference to the fact that President Barack Obama invoked a “red line” about Syria’s use of chemical weapons – but then, when Syria blatantly crossed the line, he conveniently ignored it.

I award Quote Of The Day honors to Ambassador Haley both for crediting Mr. Trump on his follow-through and nailing Mr. Obama for demonstrating what a credibility-less paper tiger he always was.

But with that award comes a warning.

There will be a day when President Trump does not follow through with one of his threats…and Democrats will be quick – and justified – to nail him for it exactly as Nikki Haley has nailed Barack Obama.

Be prepared for that day, Ms. Ambassador.  Because you have set yourself up for the hit he, and you, will take.

  • One major problem, I don’t believe Syria used chemical weapons. From what I have been reading, we are on the wrong side of this fight. The “rebels” are radical islamists. Why are we helping to set up an Islamic country? I don’t get it.

    • I see, and largely agree with, your point. The sad reality is that there are no good sides, therefore whichever side you damage inherently both hurts, and helps, bad people. On the potential upside, however, if we take out chemical weapons facilities and put the world on notice that it has to worry about our military again – which might make some very bad people think twice before doing very bad things – that can be a major benefit.
