Today’s quote comes to us from Meryl Streep. It was voiced during what was supposed to be a gracious acceptance speech, but she turned into an angry, whining political attack on Donald Trump.
The quote of the day:
“Disrespect invites disrespect”
You got that right, Ms. Streep.
But I have a question: did you say the same thing when your heroine, Hillary Clinton, called half of his supporters (that’s over 30 million voters) a “basket of deplorables”, which she characterized as being:
“racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it.”
That disrespectful enough for you, Ms. Streep? If so, did you attack Ms. Clinton for her comment? Or did she get a pass because, after all, we’re talking about Donald Trump supporters, so they must be all those things?
And I hope you are not complaining about the blunt, nasty comeback-attack Donald Trump tossed your way.
I mean, like the lady said, “Disrespect invites Disrespect”
So that goes for you, of course. And for all the other sanctimonious Hollywood types doing the same thing you did, right?
Uh……right?
I award Meryl Streep Quote Of The Day honors for making an important, eminently correct statement about disrespect.
I only hope she heard herself talking.
