THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from Ed Rendell, former Governor of Pennsylvania and ardent Hillary Clinton supporter.

Mr. Rendell – who I have always seen as a tough, savvy, knowledgeable politician – at least until now – had this to say about a comment he alleges Donald Trump made about women and how it will affect Trump’s chances in Pennsylvania:

“Will he have some appeal to working-class Dems in Levittown or Bristol? Sure…For every one he’ll lose 1½ , two Republican women. Trump’s comments like ‘You can’t be a 10 if you’re flat-chested,’ that’ll come back to haunt him. There are probably more ugly women in America than attractive women. People take that stuff personally.”

Huh?  Did those words really leave his mouth???

Not only did Mr. Rendell misquote Trump (his exact words, clearly not definitive, were “A woman who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10”), but he made a far worse comment by telling us, as if it were settled fact, that more American women are ugly than attractive.

What a stupid, insulting comment to make.

I award Ed Rendell Quote Of The Day “honors” for the sheer boneheadedness of that comment – which is so far out of character from what I would expect from him that I wonder if, like Bill Clinton, he has dropped a few notches from what he used to be.

Now:  will Hillary Clinton disavow Ed Rendell’s observation about women?

Will media ask her to — which they certainly would if this were a Donald Trump surrogate?

Or will be just get the patented Hillary horselaugh as though this is all a big joke?

We’ll see.  But, frankly, I expect nothing.  Media have their queen, and you don’t challenge a queen.
