Today\’s quote comes to us from muhammad al rahman al-shumrani, a Saudi national who has spent the past 8+ years at Guantanamo.
Here are two quotes from al-shumrani from 2007, as noted by the staff at that time:
“When I get outof here, I will go to Iraq and Afghanistan and kill as many Americans as I can. Then I will come here and kill more Americans.:
“I love Usama Bin Laden and Mullah Omar and if I ever get out ofGuantanamo I will go back to fight the Americans and kill as many as Ican.”
And here is the assessment in al-shumrani\’s file:
“If released withoutrehabilitation, close supervision, and means to successfully reintegrate intohis society as a law-abiding citizen, it is assessed detainee would immediatelyseek out prior associates and reengage in hostilities and extremist support activitiesat home and abroad”.
Why is this 8 year old vow, from a “man” judged to be an unregenerate terrorist committed to murdering our people, important enough to win Quote Of The Day honors now?
Because Barack Obama, in his infinite wisdom, has just released al-shumrani back to Saudi Arabia, that\’s why.
Stop rubbing your eyes in disbelief, you are reading this correctly. A terrorist, who has told us in so many words that, if released, he is going to kill Americans, has been released.
To do WHAT, Mr. Obama? Run a halfway house for reformed jihadists?
Every time I think this administration cannot get worse, it does. And we still have another year of it to go.
God help us.
