Ken Berwitz
Today\’s quote comes to us from Tom Ridge, former Governor of Pennsylvania and our first Homeland Security Secretary.
Mr. Ridge was interviewed by Matt Lauer on this morning\’s Today show and he did not mince words in his disdain for the rudderless “leadership” of the man we twice elected as our commander in chief:
“Well, we know they\’re not a JV team, we know they\’re notcontained….You also have to start playing offense….the President can\’t letthe clock run out. I know he loves basketball, but it\’s not like running outthe clock. You run out the clock when you\’re winning.
“…we need leadership. It may have to come from PresidentHollande. This President has spent more time criticizing Republicans in theirrejection of refugees. He ought to be providing the leadership thathistorically the rest of the world looks to….Right now there\’s no leadershipfrom America and I think it\’s about time that the President understood he\’scommander-in-chief until January of 2017. It\’s about time to lead.”
Tom Ridge wins Quote Of The Day honors because he so perfectly articulates what I, and so many others, are thinking right now.
This is not time for clever wordsmithing. It is not time for politicking. It is time for blunt, straightforward talk that leads to strong, decisive action.
Tom Ridge has provided the blunt, straightforward talk. Too bad that President Obama seems utterly incapable of providing the strong, decisive action.
Mr. President: We are being attacked by people who want us all dead, along with Western Civilization. You have over a year to finally straighten up, fly right and DO something to stop them.
How about it? The change will be good for all of us.
