Today\’s quote comes to us from former Florida gubernatorial candidate and current candidate for congress, Alex Sink
Ms. Sink, a Democrat, is running in a special election, to be held March 11th, for the congressional seat (FL-13) formerly held by Bill Young, who died last year.
She is a strong proponent of “immigration reform” – which, to many people, equates to giving legal status to people who are in the country illegally, in the hope that they can soon thereafter become voters; voters who would owe their status to the Democrat Party. (You didn\’t think Democrats would be in favor of making illegals legal if they were likely to vote Republican, did you?).
Her quote was made during a debate two days ago with her opponents, Republican David Jolly and Libertarian Lucas Overby.
“Immigrationreform is important in our country. We have a lot ofemployers over on the beaches that rely upon workers and especiallyin this high-growth environment, where are you going to get people towork to clean our hotel rooms or do our landscaping? We don\’t needto put those employers in a position of hiring undocumented andillegal workers.”
There you go. Illegals are maids and landscape workers. Just ask Alex Sink.
Does she also think that Blacks are washroom attendants and Pakistanis pump gas? Hey, if you\’re going to stereotype, why stop at just one?
If a Republican (or Libertarian, or anyone but a liberal/left Democrat) said that, it would be the end of that person\’s campaign – our wonderful “neutral” national media would make sure of it.
But this is Alex Sink, the Great Democrat Hope for FL-13. So unless you catch the local news in that part of the world, you probably don\’t know a thing about this.
Alex Sink wins Quote Of The Day honors for her blatant stereotyping…but not blatant enough to cause mainstream media to treat her the way they would treat a (gasp!) Republican.
Congratulations to her. I think.
