THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today\’s quote comes to us from Dr. Doug Gerard, an internist whose practice is in bluer-than-blue Connecticut.

Here is why he is not accepting ObamaCare…and why he clearly expects other doctors will follow in his footsteps:

“Icannot accept a plan [in which] potentially commercial-typereimbursement rates were now going to be reimbursed at Medicarerates,” Gerard says. “You have to maintain a certain mix inprivate practice between the low reimbursers and the high reimbursersto be able to keep the lights on.

“Idon\’t think most physicians know what they\’re being reimbursed. Onlywhen they start seeing some of those rates come through will theyrealize how low the rates are they agreed to.”

Let\’s see:  millions of people on ObamaCare, and doctors, who are being under-reimbursed, dropping out of  the program.

Where does that leave the subscribers?  How does it affect their ability to see a doctor – forget about the one they actually want, I mean any doctor?  How long will they have to wait before seeing a doctor they did not select and may not want?

I award Dr. Gerard Quote Of The Day honors for articulating what, I suspect, is the thought process of a great many of his colleagues about the unworkable monstrosity that is ObamaCare.

How can anyone blame them?
