Today\’s quote comes to us, as it so often does, from President Barack Obama.
This is what he said to allay Israel\’s fears that he is giving the store away to Iran in a “deal” that does not prevent it from continuing to move towards nuclear weaponry:
“What we will be doing, even as we enter into this deal, is sending a very clear message to the Iranians and to the entire region that, if anybody messes with Israel, America will be there.”
Yeah, right.
Is this not the same Barack Obama who told us there were defined red lines in Syria, that the Russia “reset” would bring Russia back to civility, that al-qaeda was “virtually decimated” and that ISIS (oh, excuse me, ISIL) is a “jayvee squad”?
And this is this not the same Iran which has already announced to its people that nothing the Obama administration is saying about the “deal” is true – in other words, the “deal” that President Obama is so unconvincingly touting, doesn\’t even exist?
I award President Obama Quote Of The Day honors for being either shamelessenough or obtuse enough to pump out another in his continuing streak of lies, to cover up his continuing streak of foreign policy gaffes, missteps and outright disasters.
The only questions are: Who will believe him (other than the low-information crowd and unconditional Obama supporters), and what will Israel – whose existence is gravely endangered by a “deal” which allows Iran to go on its merry way towards the nuclear capability it is virtually certain to use there – do about it?
