Today’s quote comes to us from jimmy kimmel – who, like his late-night counterpart stephen colbert, has made a career out of attacking conservatives in general and Donald Trump in particular.
Here, from his show Monday night, is kimmel’s comment about the death of Charlie Kirk:
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
Yes, you read that quote correctly. This is a supposedly mature adult, insultingly telling us that Kirk’s murderer who – based on his lifestyle and writing – had become a radicalized leftist who murdered a conservative, pro-Trump activist – was himself a Trump supporter.
And, knowing the amen-chorus audience kimmel (and colbert) are treated to every night, it would not surprise me a bit if most of them were on board with this, or anything else their hero might say.
