The ilhan omar quote references her comment about President Trump sending marines to Los Angeles – after days of extensive and intense anarchy/vandalism/looting/violence which omar had little or nothing terrible to say about:
“I grew up, uh, in a dictatorship. And I don’t even remember ever witnessing anything like that. To have a democracy, a beacon of Hope for the world, to now be turned into one of the, you know, one of the worst countries, where the military are in our streets? Without any regard for people’s constitutional rights.”
That’s right. ilhan omar told us that Trump’s attempt to make Los Angeles safe again made us “one of the worst countries”.
Rep Steube, who is both a lawyer and an Iraqi war veteran, had this reaction to omar’s comment:
