THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today\’s quote comes to us from Fareed Zakaria, who hosts “Fareed Zakaria GPS” on CNN.

Here is what he had to say about the lineup of Fox News Channel hosts: – against which CNN competes, and loses big-time, all day and all night on weekends and evenings:

“Wedon\’t hold Rupert Murdoch responsible for every crazy, radical, youknow, quasi-fascist statement made by a television host. Oh, wait aminute, I guess we do in the case of Rupert Murdoch, since he hiresmost of them.”

Fareed Zakaria wins Quote Of The Day for spewing a truly nasty vile comment about not just Rupert Murdoch but the people who host shows on Fox News Channel (which, not incidentally, cleans CNN\’s clock in the ratings:  could that be the real reason for his comment?)

A question for you, Mr. Zakaria:  Fox\’s prime time lineup consists of Brett Baier, Greta Van Susteren, Bill O\’Reilly, Megyn Kelly and Sean Hannity.  You may agree or disagree with the way they run their shows, or what you consider their political views.  But which of them can you credibly call “crazy, radical, you know, quasi-fascist”?

And if the answer is “none of them” (which, of course, it is), maybe you owe Rupert Murdoch, the Fox show host lineup…and anyone who read or heard this nasty, uncalled-for vituperation, an apology.

Or is your explanation that you didn\’t really say those things at all – a real possibility given that you have been suspended by both CNN and Time Magazine for plagiarism, and have been accused of two dozen or so other such plagiarisms as well?

That is the bright side of plagiarism, Fareed:  if someone characterizes what you say as crazy, radical and, you know, quasi-fascist….a plagiarist can always blame it on someone else.
