Today’s quote comes to us from Senator Chris Coons (D-DE).
On yesterday’s “Morning Joe” show, Senator Coons had this to say about Israel’s remarkably successful military attacks on hezbollah: first, blowing up its pagers, next, blowing up its walkie-talkies, and finally (at least for now) taking out its entire military command, including the subhuman excrement pile the US has been after for four decades – the one who blew up our marine barracks, killing 241 of our soldiers.
Here’s Coons’ reaction to what Israel did:
“[I]t is heartbreaking how close we’ve come to a ceasefire and hostage deal. I know senior members of the Biden team are in the region and are actively engaged in continuing to try and find ways to push Hamas, through Qatar and through Egypt, to come to the table and to finally achieve this ceasefire and hostage deal. They’ve also been pressing on Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu, but ongoing escalatory attacks in the north of Israel by Hezbollah, this striking incident where pagers and walkie-talkies were remotely detonated, and the ongoing ground war in Gaza all make it harder than ever to imagine a ceasefire deal coming together, something I know President Biden very much urgently wants to get done.”
Is Chris Coons a complete moron?
The answer – I think – is no, based on the number of other times I have heard him speak.
Does he hate Israel? Not that I know of.
But is this about as stupid, as myopic a comment as you are likely to come across, regardless of whether the source is an idiot or an Israel hater? You bet it is.
Israel is under daily attack from hezbollah. Something like 100,000 Israelis have been displaced from their homes for almost a year due to hezbollah’s daily bombing.
Does Chris Coons actually believe that the way to a ceasefire is to allow a murderous, terrorist group to continue firing at will? Does he actually believe that Israel allowing the daily assault to continue without acting against it is going to encourage hezbollah, or hamas, or Iran, to stop its attacks?
I award Chris Coons Quote Of The Day “honors” for showing us that even an otherwise intelligent person can talk like a dumbass idiot. And this, folks, is dumbass idiotica of the first order.
