Today’s quote comes to us from former/possibly future President Donald Trump. It comes in the form of a post Trump made on his Truth Social page while Vice President Kamala Harris was making her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention:
As Harris was making promises about what she would do if elected, Trump posted this:
“She’s done nothing for three and a half years but talk, and that’s what she’s doing tonight, she’s complaining about everything but doing nothing!”
“She should leave the Speech right now, go to Washington, D.C., close the Border, allow fracking in Pennsylvania and other places, and start doing the things she’s complaining about aren’t done!”
Excellent point. And exactly what Trump should be saying about Harris – i.e. that she has had 3 1/2 years to do what she is promising, but didn’t do any of it and, in some cases (e.g. fracking), she was openly against doing what she now promises. So why should anyone believe a word she says?
I award Donald Trump Quote Of The Day honors for – this once – doing what he should be doing if he wants to regain the presidency: using specific examples to attack Harris, based on her actual performance, as nothing more than a big talker who, in reality, is devoid of accomplishments, and who has reversed herself on major positions because voters would reject her real ones…
…instead of calling her a bunch of juvenile schoolyard-quality names, which tells voters nothing other than that he is a nasty bully.
If Trump could just continue this for the rest of the campaign, he’d be doing himself and his supporters a major favor.
But this is Trump. So, if it happens, color me somewhere between surprised and amazed, leaning heavily toward amazed.
