Today’s quote comes to us from Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Jr. It concerns the nomination of Kamala Harris as the 2024 Democrat Presidential candidate.
Here is what Mr. Kennedy told ABC News about this:
“I think it was a coronation, it’s not democracy. Nobody voted. Who chose Kamala? It wasn’t voters.
“She went in four weeks from being the worst liability for the Democratic Party to the second coming of Christ without giving one interview, without showing up for a debate, without a single policy that anyone thinks isn’t ridiculous. It’s not democracy.”
RFK Jr. wins Quote Of The Day honors for stating the obvious, indisputable facts that Kamala Harris became the Democrat nominee by doing nothing other than existing, and that she has taken on positions which are eminently vulnerable (i.e. a combination of “ridiculous” ones like price controls, and complete reversals of positions she had just a month ago).
If Republicans have even the most minimal level of political savvy, they will be talking about these realities every day; reminding voters of what Harris said/believed in before the party dumped Joe Biden and how different her positions suddenly have become….
…along with reminding voters that everything she says she will fix is something that has been broken through 3 1/2 years of her being Vice President of the United States and President – with the tie-breaking vote – in the Senate. In other words, she will be promising to fix what she has left broken. Credibility problem, anyone?
One other thing: it seems likely (we don’t know for 100% sure/we will very quickly though) that RFK Jr., having dropped out of the presidential race, is going to come out in support of Donald Trump.
Watch what happens to those vote totals if this turns out to be true (something that I expect would be happening anyway, but will happen a lot faster).
