Today’s quote comes to us from former Speaker of The House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
It is in the form of a reaction to the uncovering of a video from January 6, 2021, during the so-called “insurrection”, when Pelosi and her Chief of Staff, Terri McCullough, were being driven from DC to Fort McNair.
Here was Pelosi’s comment about what was happening – which was video-taped by a pretty impeccable source: Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra. The bold print is mine:
“We have a responsibility Terri. We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have.
“This is ridiculous.
“You’re going to ask me, in the middle of the thing when they’ve already breached the inaugural stuff, that, uh, should we call the capital police…I mean the National Guard? Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?”
(Pelosi’s Chief of Staff, Terri McCullough): “They thought that they had sufficient…”
Pelosi: “No, that is not a question of how they had, they don’t know. They clearly didn’t know.
“And I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more.”
“I take responsibility”. It couldn’t be much clearer, could it?
But what was Pelosi’s reaction when this video was uncovered and made public? Contrition? An admission that she was a culpable party?
Uh….nope.
Instead, she called it “revisionist history”.
Here is Pelosi’s exact quote, during an interview on (where else would she be able to get away with this) MSNBC. I’ve put the key part in bold print:
“The fact is that the President of the United States, the former President, and his toadies, do not want to face the facts.
“They’re trying to do revisionist history on January 6th.
“But we cannot let us be, uh, dragged into their, again, uh, false (imperishing???) of what happened that day. They know what happened that day.”
“Revisionist history”??? What Pelosi said, verbatim, on video, is “revisionist history”??? Y’mean she didn’t say what she said?????????

I award Nancy Pelosi Quote Of The Day (dis)honors for, essentially, telling you that you are either so stupid and/or so partisan that you can be convinced to disbelieve what is in front of your face and in your ears.
Oh, one other thing: here, via X (formerly twitter), is the reaction to what Pelosi said from Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund – who has testified under oath that he specifically requested the National Guard be placed on alert for January 6th, but was turned down flat:
Pelosi was surprised we didn’t have National Guard on Jan6?? I was denied National Guard support multiple times before January 6, and repeatedly for 71 minutes ON January 6.
