THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from leftward-but-still-using-his-brain TV commentator Bill Maher.

Mr. Maher is upset at the amount of coverage our media are giving the anti-Israel (and pro-hamas as well, let’s not forget) protesters at schools around the country.  His point?

“It’s time for the media to admit they blew the whole thing way out of proportion because, as always with the media these days, they don’t cover what’s most important. Just what’s most fun to watch.

“There are 15.2 million college students in the U.S. and 2,300 have been arrested. That’s 1/67th of 1%, and half of the ones in New York weren’t even students.”

Interesting point.  Let’s build on it just a bit.

Assuming Maher’s numbers are correct, even if every one of the arrested protesters were students, and even if only 10% of the offenders were actually arrested, it would still mean that just one out of ever 670 students was involved.

I therefore award Bill Maher Quote Of The Day honors for reminding us how isolated these loud, disruptive, obnoxious, self-righteous, uncaring about anyone else, led-by-the-nose drones actually are…

…and how immensely unfair it is that so many of our media – and the heads of so many universities (along with likeminded faculty members) – have given them this much wholly undeserved deference.

If I were President of a university where such behavior took place, I would give the offenders maybe two hours to fold their tents and clear out.  After that – no extensions, no excuses – I would have the police remove them, with every offender at least suspended, or permanently expelled, depending on their behavior after the clear-out began.

Enough is enough.
