THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from a triumphant letitia james, Attorney General of New York and self avowed anti-Trump combatant.

In her self-congratulatory, preening victory statement after Trump was assessed $360 million or so dollars, his family members were hit with millions and millions more, and he was barred from doing business in New York for at least three years (all of which is almost certain to be overturned), james actually said this:

“Everyone must play by the same rules.”

That so?

Ok, letitia, tell us how many other real estate people in New York history – now or ever – have been found guilty of fraud when there were no complainants?  And how many who were found guilty, even with actual complainants, were assessed anything even remotely coming close to what Trump and his people were assessed – after a “trial” in which banking personnel, one after the other, said nothing Trump did was at all out of the ordinary for the way real estate is conducted in New York.

And then, when you’re through not answering, let’s move on to another “successful” New York attack on Trump.  Tell us how many other men besides Trump have been convicted of defamation for insulting a woman who claimed rape almost a quarter century after it allegedly happened, could not specify the date it happened or the year it happened, had no evidence, had no witnesses, and whose account of the alleged rape – being assaulted in the women’s dressing room of a busy midtown department store but no one noticed or heard anything you see – was a virtually exact replica of what happened in a Law and Order SVU TV episode (Season13, Episode 11, aired January 11, 2012)?

Then, when you’re through not naming any, because there aren’t any, please explain why insulting someone for calling you a rapist without any proof of any kind is punishable by an assessment of almost $90 million dollars.

I award letitia james Quote Of The Day (dis)honors for showing us that, in the current legal climate in New York (and, god help us, it is not the only place I could say this about),  an Attorney General can lie to our faces this openly and not worry for one second about being called out for it.  Certainly not from what passes for our mainstream media these days.
