Today’s quote comes to us from Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennet.
When the missile/bomb detonated at Gaza’s hospital, the New York Times – never a friend of Israel despite it’s (ancestrally) Jewish ownership – decided to characterize it as having come from Israel. No doubt about it, no issue of whether it might have been a misfire from Gaza, just Israel. The end. Case closed.
And since there very quickly was massive evidence that this was not the case, it is hardly a surprise that Mr. Bennet (among countless others) had something to say to The Times, which he put in writing. Here it is:
“Yesterday, at 6:59PM Islamic Jihad fired a barrage of around 10 rockets to Israel. One of the rockets misfired (fairly common event) and hit the parking lot of the Al-Ahli Hospital, killing many innocent people.
“Hamas immediately understood that this was the Islamic Jihad’s rocket, and launched a massive lie campaign, blaming Israel.
“The New York Times immediately adopted Hamas’ version, peddling this lie for hours.
“New York Times: Shame on you. Apologize now for this slander. Aren’t you supposed to check facts? Isn’t that your claim to fame?
“Is there a special exemption from fact-checking when it’s the Jewish State involved?”
I will not tell you why Naftali Bennet wins Quote Of The Day honors. I assume you already know.
