Today’s quote comes to us from President Joe Biden
Standing in northwest Arizona, Mr. Biden regaled us with this fact about the geographical formation he had just visited:
“The Grand Canyon. One of the earth’s 9 wonders. Wonders of the world. Literally. Think of that.”
“Think of that”, Mr. President? Ok. I thought about it.
And having done so, I have two things to tell you:
1: There are just 7 fabled “wonders of the world”, not 9, and
2: The Grand Canyon is not one of them.
The seven ancient wonders of the world were the great pyramid of Giza, the hanging gardens of Babylon, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Temple of Artemis, the lighthouse of Alexandria, The statue of Zeus and the mausoleum at Halicarnassus.
The seven modern wonders of the world are the Great Wall of China, Chichén Itzá, Petra, Machu Picchu, the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio De Janeiro, the Colosseum and the Taj Mahal.
Do you see the Grand Canyon among them? I sure don’t.
I therefore award Joe Biden Quote Of The Day “honors” for doing what he does best. Getting facts wrong – either because he is lying, or because he doesn’t know what the eff he’s talking about but keeps talking anyway.
