Today’s quote comes to us from Vice President Kamala Harris.
She was being interviewed by Linsey Davis of ABC News, and the subject of her approval polls came up.
Davis asked whether Harris attributed her negative polling to her race and gender (identity politics being the go-to panacea of the left).
Harris’s answer?
“Well, there are polls that also say I have great approval ratings.”.
Huh? When did that happen? Where are those “great approval ratings” Vice President Harris is talking about?
To find out, I went to realclearpolitics.com, which aggregates major polls for various politicians, including the Vice President. I decided to look for modest success; i.e. a poll that gave Ms. Harris a positive rating – not the “great approval ratings” she was bragging about, just positive territory of any kind.
And I found one.
The most recent positive-territory poll for Vice President Harris, taken by the nonpartisan YouGov organization from June 20 – 22, shows her with a modest +1% result (48% approve, 47% disapprove).
But there is a little bit of a problem.
That June 20-22 period was not this year. And it wasn’t last year either.
I literally had to go back to June 20-22 of 2021 – over two years ago – to find any poll from any organization that had Vice President Harris in positive territory. Not “great approval ratings” by any stretch, but just above water at all, even if only by 1%.
Every poll by every organization covered in realclearpolitics.com since then has had Vice President Harris on the negative side – with her current average of recent polls at -15.5%.
I therefore award Kamala Harris Quote Of The Day “honors” for doing what she – and her boss, Joe – seem to have no problem doing. Lying to our faces.
