Today’s quote comes to us from the always-quotable Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.
Yesterday, while speaking at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland, Ms. Harris blessed us with this insight:
“When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breath clean air and drink clean water.”
Yes, she actually said that.
Did Harris mean “pollution” instead of “population”? The White House quickly put out a written revision assuring us she did. And, frankly, I believe them. I have little doubt it was just a gaffe (hey, being second in command to Joe Biden, she certainly can be learning the art of the gaffe from a master).
But two things have to be said. One is that, while I truly assume it was a gaffe, I can’t know for 100% sure. And the other is that once she said it the audience broke into enthusiastic cheers.
For WHAT??????
I award Kamala Harris Quote Of The Day honors for giving us what either is a pretty funny misstatement or an opinion she would need some psychiatric help to get past…
…and Honorable Mentions to the audience which, hearing the “population” version, burst into applause and cheers anyway, thus proving that when you’re willing to be a sheep, you have no problem mindlessly going along with whatever the head of the pack does – or, in this case, says.
