THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today’s quote comes to us from California Governor and, quite possibly, 2024 presidential candidate, Gavin Newsom.

I am about to quote Governor Newsom from his interview by hard-left MSNBC’s Alex Wagner – specifically, his claims about media bias.  And I strongly urge that, to protect your monitor from sudden spurts of food or liquid, you not be eating or drinking when you read it.

OK, you’ve been warned.  Here it is:

“It’s not just a messaging problem, but a messaging problem has persisted in our party for years and years.  We allow these culture wars to take shape, and we are constantly on the back end.

“The propaganda networks and the anger machine, which, of course, the Right dominates. And we have nothing, respectfully, nothing comparable.  These guys are ruthless on the other side. Ruthless on the other side. That prime-time lineup by Fox, they are ruthless.

“They dominate the most important thing in American politics today, and that’s the narrative. Facts become secondary to narrative. They dominate with illusion. We are getting crushed.”

That’s right.  You read it correctly.  According to Governor Newsom, conservative media dominates.  Democrats, liberals, leftists, etc. are left in the dust by the overwhelmingly right wing, conservative media venues which are in control of the national narrative.

Need time to clean off that monitor?

Assuming there must be some number of people out there who, against all reality and logic, might think this claim has at least a minimal level of credibility, I reference YouGovAmerica’s study, conducted in April, measuring the major news venues and who finds them more credible.   Other than Fox News Channel, see how almost all the rest of those venues fall on the spectrum.  (Hint:  they ain’t exactly Republican/conservative).

I award Gavin Newsom Quote Of The Day honors for being among the dumbest and/or more gullible and/or the most ignorant and/or the most dishonest politicians in the country (I vote for door #4).  And that, folks, is quite an accomplishment.
