THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today\’s quote comes to us from left wing looney-tune Ana Marie Cox, who writes for Gentlemen\’s Quarterly (GQ).

Ms. Cox seems to have difficulty finding a difference between conservative Christians and ISIS.

Can\’t believe that could be true?  Can\’t believe even a hard leftist could be so ridiculous?  Well, here\’s her quote:

“Soyou said a little while ago about the Syria situation that Americansare in and the incompetence and lack of accountability but Americansare souring on our form of government? Well, the Value Votersconference has another idea about what our form of government shouldbe. It looks a little bit like what the Islamicists want. They arereally calling for right, the explicit input of religion intoAmerican politics. Tony Perkins gave an interview where he talkedabout a recent Pew poll that Americans wanted to have more religiousinvolvement in our national politics. He took this as a wonderfulsign, that we should have churches endorsing candidates and involvedin, you know, in democracy. That is not a bad thing necessarily butyou know, what Rand [Paul] is doing and the kind of stuff that TedCruz talked about. I mean, it\’s a dangerous move to think that theAmerican people are actually going to be okay with that particularmapping of, a form of religious extremism on to politics.”

Leaving aside the semi-coherent parts and the self contradictory content (“That is not a bad thing necessarily”), let\’s concentrate on the comparison between Syria and the Value Voters Summit:

-Syria Islamics:  killing at will, total death toll in Syria from all sources closing in on 200,000.

-Value Voters Summit:  killing no one, advocating no death at all.

-Syria Islamics:  ISIS demands people convert to its form of Islam or be tortured, and/or crucified, and/or killed – sometimes by beheading – with women raped at will and sold to whoever wants to pay for them.

-Value Voters Summit:  Demands no one convert to anything.  Neither engages in nor advocates any form of violence.

-Syria Islamics:  Demand no democracy.

-Value Voters Summit:  Wants religion to work within democracy.

Want me to go on?  I hope not, because that\’s more than enough.

Ana Marie Cox wins Quote Of The Day honors, for making a comment so patently idiotic that even, I suspect, many of her far left counterparts, if asked about what she said, will shrug their shoulders, shake their heads, and change the subject.
