Today\’s Quote Of The Day comes to us from an older source. Much older. Like over 188 years older (he died in 1826): Thomas Jefferson: well, his ghost, I suppose.
Here is what Mr. Jefferson said about newspapers – which, I have no doubt at all, he would be saying about all media if he were alive today:
“The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers.”
Talk about being ahead of his time.
I award the ghost of Thomas Jefferson Quote Of The Day honors, because his observation about media is as true now as it was then. And a quote that stays fresh for almost two centuries (and counting) deserves recognition.
Congratulations, Thomas. Now, could you please waft into the Oval Office, which I assume you remember well, and start whispering in the current resident\’s ear? Anything that gets through to him will be an improvement.
Thanks…and say hello to Sally and the kids for me.
