THE PARIS TERRORIST ATTACKS: TWO QUOTES

Ken Berwitz

Every Presidential candidate has issued a statement about the Paris terrorist attacks.

I thought I\’d show you just two, so you can easily contrast them and decide which sounds more presidential – which mindset you would want in the White House:

JEB BUSH:  “Thisis a war being created by Islamic terrorists. It\’s not a law enforcementoperation. And the mindset that in our country at least, needs to change torecognize it for what it is. This is an organized effort to destroy westerncivilization and we need to lead in this regard. We need to garner thealliances, fortify those alliances, reconnect with our counterintelligence andintelligence capabilities with our European allies and engage in the MiddleEast to take out ISIS which is the wellspring in more likely to be thewellspring of this type of activity. If it\’s not them, there are otherterrorist groups. This is the war of our time and we have to be serious andengaging in creating a strategy to, to confront it and take it out.”

HILLARY CLINTON:  “Allour prayers are with the people of France tonight. We must stand side-by-sideevery step of the way with France and our allies around the world to wage andwin the struggle against terrorism and violent extremism. Even in this darkestnight, Paris remains the City of Light. No terrorist attack will ever dim thespirit of the French people or our common commitment to the democratic valueswe share.”

A call to action, and a soothing rah-rah speech.  Which of the two do you consider more presidential.  Which of the two mindsets would you want for our commander in chief?

Your decision.

Oh, one other thing:  Here is the quote of French President Francois Hollande:

“We are going to lead a war which will bepitiless.  Because when terrorists are capable of committing suchatrocities, they must be certain that they are facing a determined France, aunited France, a France that is together and does not let itself be moved, evenif today we express infinite sorrow,”

Which of the two Presidential quotes would you think are more meaningful to President Hollande?  Jeb Bush\’s pledge to confront it and take it out, or Hillary Clinton\’s “we\’re with you to wage and win the struggle…and Paris remains the City of Light” verbal vomit?

Is Ms. Clinton so afraid of offending the far left of her party that this is the best she can muster after a terrorist attack that kills or injures 500 people?  What\’s she going to do if New York City is hit next.  Remind everyone it\’s still The Big Apple?
