THE PARAGRAPH OF THE DAY

Today’s paragraph comes to us from President/CEO of Job Creators Network/author/podcast host Alfredo Ortiz.

The headline of Mr. Ortiz’s latest commentary is “Hispanics are running away from Democrats. Bidenomics is making things even worse.”

As readers of this blog know, I have been talking about the Hispanic (or Latino if you prefer) move away from the Democrat Party/toward Republicans for years.  So, regarding this overall point we are in agreement.

Where we differ is in the primary reason it is happening.

To me, the key issue has been Biden’s policies regarding the southern border – which is filling so many Hispanic neighborhoods with gang and drug cartel members, who recruit the neighborhood’s children for their activities (and heaven help family or friends if they try to intervene).

But Mr. Ortiz sees the primary reason as the economic situation Biden has saddled us all with, which has made life particularly difficult for so many in the Hispanic community.

Here, from his above-mentioned commentary, is why:

Consider how Bidenomics disproportionately hurts Hispanics. Who is more impacted by the 17% inflation since Biden took office: Hispanic food service workers or white yuppies? Who feels greater pain from $5 a gallon gas: Hispanic transportation workers or the work-from-home laptop class? And who is impacted more by Democrats’ opposition to school choice: the Hispanic family who has to live wherever they can find an affordable apartment or the suburbanites who can choose their zip code based on its schools? No wonder Hispanics are migrating to the Republican Party.

Y’now, those are good points.  Very good points.

Alfredo Ortiz, therefore, wins Paragraph Of The Day honors for making me wonder which of the two Biden disasters is more prevalent in getting Hispanic voters to move (maybe flee is a more appropriate word) from the Democrat Party to the Republican side.
