Well, it is now almost a month since the election.
Remember those dozens of celebrities who assured us they were leaving the country if Donald Trump won? Well right now the total count of those who are actually doing so is…..1.
And who is that person? Barbra Streisand? Cher? Jon Stewart? Amy Schumer? Al Sharpton? Miley Cyrus (oh, no, ANYONE but Miley Cyrus)?
Er…well…no.
It is Akinwande Oluwole “Wole” Babatunde Soyinka, a household name throughout the United States I’m sure.
Mr. Soyinka, 82 years of age, is a Nobel Prize-winning playwright (30 years ago). He has torn up his “green card” and is relocating back to his native Nigeria, he says, because Trump won.
In other words, a Nigerian national, who remains a Nigerian citizen, is going back to Nigeria.
Oh, the sacrifice!!!!!!!!
