THE JOSH GOTTHEIMER TRUMP PUNCH-OUT COMMERCIAL

Is this really the party that warns against fomenting violence?

Josh Gottheimer is a Democrat congressperson from Northern New Jersey.  He aspires to be Governor of the state, and is running in the primary.

To that end, he has put out a commercial, the thrust of which is that he is a fighter.  And in that commercial there is a photoshopped video of him, in boxing shorts, fighting President Trump, and presumably trying to punch his lights out.

Doubt me?  I don’t blame you if you do, given the unbelievably offensive nature of this commercial.  But here it is.  See for yourself..

I get the idea.  You run a Democrat primary campaign in New Jersey by trying to prove you hate Trump more than the other candidates;  like politicians in the south used to run campaigns trying to “out-seg” (show they were harder-line on racial segregation) than their opponents.

But with boxing gloves, swinging at Trump’s face?

And please don’t tell me “Yeah, but he didn’t actually hit him” – which, I assume is the line Gottheimer and his people will use to deflect from the disgusting, obnoxious nature of the commercial.  It doesn’t work.

Tell me:  what will Gottheimer and his people say if the commercial convinces some people that this is the way to handle Trump, and they go to one of his events intending to punch him in the face; maybe get close enough to get off that punch?  That they had nothing to do with it?

This is shameful, sick, and has no place in political advertising…which a) clearly has not stopped Gottheimer from running it anyway and b) at least so far has not been condemned by our wonderful “neutral” media.

I’ll end with a question:  what do you think our media would have said if Trump ran an ad saying he was a fighter, with photoshopped video of him trying to punch Biden’s lights out?

Think about it.
