LEAH FOLEY AND ICE

Leah Foley is the US Attorney for Massachusetts.

Ms. Foley, unlike so many in positions of power in Massachusetts, is of the (correct) impression that federal law – including the operations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – means something.

To that end, she has posted the following statement of policy:

“The interference with ICE operations around Massachusetts has been disturbing, to say the least. This conduct poses significant public and officer safety risks. It is conduct that should be vilified rather than glorified. I will not stand idly by if any public official, public safety officer, organization or private citizen acts in a manner that criminally obstructs or impedes ICE operations. The United States Attorney’s Office, along with our federal partners, will investigate any violations of federal law and pursue charges that are warranted by such activity.” – United States Attorney Leah B. Foley

It is a sad commentary on Ms. Foley’s state that she earns my congratulations for doing nothing other than assuring us that she will enforce the law.

I wonder how this will be taken by the Democrats in charge there.

Now let’s hope that the legal powers that be in New Jersey act the same way, regarding the criminal obstruction/impeding which took place at Newark’s ICE facility last week.
