The unspeakably despicable attack/slaughter in Israel on October 7th took place just as Israel and Saudi Arabia were finalizing a working relationship between the two countries – a relationship that now is on indefinite, maybe permanent, hold. Therefore, hamas’ action, though sub-humanly sick, was of great benefit for their cause.
Today’s bombing of al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza killed some number of people (500 or so, if you trust hamas to give you accurate information). Israel claims it had nothing to do with this, that it was was one of the many misfired bombs from Gaza (hamas’s poor record in this regard is indisputable) that never made it to Israel and, this time, hit their hospital.
So who is telling the truth? As of now, no one can know for 100% sure (that may quickly change). But let’s think logically about this.
What possible reason would Israel have for bombing a hospital? In what possible way would Israel benefit?
The answer? Israel derives absolutely no benefit of any kind at all. This bombing does nothing but hurt Israel.
It gives hamas the opportunity to characterize Israelis as monsters. It encourages/emboldens attacks on Israel around the world.
Plus, it occurred just as Joe Biden was heading for the Middle East…which has resulted in the cancellation of his meeting with the heads of state of Jordan, Egypt and Judea/Samaria (the west bank), and destroyed any hope Israel might have had that Biden would publicly support its entry into Gaza.
Given the above, you’ll pardon my skepticism that Israel had a thing to do with this.
One other point: Israel has indicated it has proof that the bomb came from Gaza, not Israel. I strongly suggest we all wait to see what it is. Fair enough?
