THE FUNNIEST MICHAEL BROWN DEFENSE

Hard though it may be to believe, I have found something humorous in the Michael Brown shooting and its aftermath

Here, as pulled from the transcript I found at P. J. Gladnick\’s blog for newsbusters.org,  is Eugene Robinson – er, excuse me, “PULITZER PRIZE WINNER Eugene Robinson, as he is always introduced on MSNBC, while he gives us his best Cheshire cat smile – explaining to Joe Scarborough why we should believe Michael Brown was surrendering when Officer Darren Wilson, who, let\’s remember, had never discharged his weapon even once in the line of duty until that day – decided to use him for target practice:

SCARBOROUGH:Gene, Gene, do you have any evidence? I mean let\’s cut through it.Let\’s not talk about the niceties of the legal debate. Do you believethat Michael Brown had his arms up saying “Don\’t shoot?” Doyou believe that actually happened?

ROBINSON: Look, I actuallybelieve that at some point he was clearly advancing toward theofficer at the time he was shot. Was he charging the officer like abull, like a demon as the officer said? Was he staggering toward himin some…

SCARBOROUGH: Do you believe he had his arms up in the airand said “Don\’t shoot?” I think this is a very important toquestion to answer if this is to become the new symbol, the newprotest symbol of people on the floor of the House and beforefootball games, I think it actually matters whether it was the truthor not.

ROBINSON: I don\’t believe Joe that there is anything in therecord that certainly not in the forensic evidence that precludes thepossibility that he had his hands up at some point when he wasapproaching the officer. He probably did not…

SCARBOROUGH: That\’san awfully low standard. There\’s also nothing in the evidence thatdoesn\’t suggest a flying saucer from Venus swooped over all of them.I mean that\’s a very low standard.

Don\’t you love Scarborough\’s incredulous response to PPW Robinson\’s mention that you can\’t prove Brown didn\’t at one point have his hands up (a reminder:  the autopsy results indicate they were not up when Brown was shot)?

Let me add that there also is no evidence that a swarm of bees did not fly at Darren Wilson, causing him to drop his gun, while a rabid dog with hands instead of paws happened to be walking by, picked up the gun, and shot Brown instead.

Thanks for the laugh, PPW Gene.  We needed that.

Oh, by the way, Charles Krauthammer, a regular contributor on Fox, is also a Pulitzer Prize winner, just like you.  But the folks over there never throw that up at us.  And, I\’m guessing, if they did, Mr. Krauthammer would consider it so obnoxious he\’d tell them to stop.

Keep smiling, though….
