This one beats them all.
Liz Cheney , the Trump-hating soon-to-be-former congressperson who was happy to be part of Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Kangaroo Kommittee (consisting of 7 Democrats and Cheney and Adam Kinzinger – the two most Trump-hating Republicans in congress) is threatening to leave the Republican Party.
Her exact words:
“I’m going to make sure Donald Trump, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he is not the nominee. And if he is the nominee, I won’t be a Republican.”
Hilarious.
What will you do if that happens, Ms. Cheney? Use your status as a congressperson to do him in…
…oh, wait. You won’t be able to use that status. Because you won’t be in congress.
See, you lost your primary vote to Harriet Hageman by a staggering 66.3% to 28.9%; the single worst drubbing I have ever seen an incumbent take.
Ronald Reagan famously said “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me.
By contrast, Liz Cheney seems not to realize that she can’t dump the Republican Party, the Republican Party has dumped her. Emphatically.
Maybe when she’s sitting home on January 1, watching Ms. Hageman take office, she’ll get the message.
