President (at least as of this moment) Joe Biden had his sit-down with ABC News’ George Stephanopolous. The scheduled 30 minute interview – which actually ran just 22 minutes – aired last night.
The result? This is the end of Biden. (My next blog will go into the particulars of how disastrous the Stephanopolous interview was.)
The sharks were already circling Biden’s candidacy. Not out of concern that he was seriously impaired cognitively; everyone knew that for a long time. But because his cognitive impairment could no longer be hidden or explained away, and would therefore affect voting in November; not just for Biden personally, but also for down-ticket candidates (i.e. senators, house members) as well.
So now our mainstream media, which shamelessly, inexcusably pretended Biden was acceptably functional until now – along with an increasing number of Democrat incumbents and aspirants who fear electoral disaster in November – are coming after him full bore.
Simply put, there is no way for Biden to continue. Even if he thinks there is.
James Carville said it best in 2012, describing Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum after he lost a bunch of primaries to Mitt Romney but said he was going to stay in the race anyway:
“He was like a chicken with his head chopped off. The chicken is dead. The only person that don’t know it is the chicken.”
That point made, Democrats have just four months to undo Biden and put together a viable presidential campaign for another candidate…
…who almost certainly will have to be the cackling, feckless flyweight Kamala Harris – unless they can talk, cajole, demand or otherwise convince Michelle Obama into running (despite the fact that she has never held any public office and her one and only qualification for the office is her husband).
Anyone else – more specifically, any alternative candidate who is neither Black nor female – will cause an eruption at next month’s convention in Chicago that will make Vesuvius look like a minor spillover problem.
What a complete, utter mess this is. And entirely the making of Democrats and their complicit media.
I hope this bunch is happier with what they’ve created for themselves. And for us.
