Yesterday, a cadre of hard left Democrat officeholders, one after the other, screeched out insults to, and threats against, Elon Musk and Donald Trump. It was a regular who’s-who of safe-seat left wingers – exactly the ones who were so instrumental in Democrats losing the White House and both houses of congress last year.
Here is a partial video. Believe me, there was a lot more, including Maxine Waters, Elizabeth Warren, others.
Then we have the sad, increasingly ridiculous, spectacle of Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) cheering them on like some kind of programmed clown – a status which Schumer seems to like a great deal, because he has been assuming this persona more and more in recent years.
And, finally, we have former (moderate) Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan’s tweet, showing Schumer’s antics, with the following commentary:
“I just don’t even know what to say anymore when I see this kind of stuff. Is it Saturday Night Live or real life? Does anyone really think this is the future of the country? This is the only alternative to Trump’s America? It’s just so depressing.”
Have Democrats learned nothing? Are they really this impervious to understanding what lost them the election last year?
Did they not notice that, just three months ago, Republicans made serious gains (thus Democrats made serious losses) among Blacks, Latinos and working people – all of whom have been mainstays of the party for decades.
Why do they think these dropoffs took place? Because these groups are HAPPY with this kind of behavior? Do they really think that railing against Elon Musk because he’s trying to stop USAID’s profligate expenditures around the world will stop the bleeding? Bring them back?
Asking again: Have Democrats learned nothing? Are they really this impervious to understanding what lost them the election last year?
I guess that, at least as of now, we have our answer.
