THE CLINTON EMAIL SCANDAL (CONT.)

Here, via Rachel Bade and Josh Gerstein\’s article at politico.com, is the latest news about Hillary Clinton\’s email scandal – the one mainstream media have moved heaven and earth to bury, even as it grows and grows:

More than 1,200 emails from Hillary Clinton\’s private server during her time at the State Department have now been deemed classified, after the agency publicly released its eighth batch of the messages late Thursday.

The agency released roughly 5,500 more pages of emails from the private email account that Clinton exclusively used during her four years at Foggy Bottom, with an additional 275 messages now upgraded to classified, bringing the total number of retroactively classified emails that moved through Clinton\’s unsecured server to 1,274.

While most of those were elevated to the “confidential” level, according to a State Department official, two in the most recent batch were upgraded to the “Secret” level, a more sensitive classification for issues that affect national security.

Clinton, after the scandal about her use of private email broke in March, initially said that there was no classified material on her email account. She has since stressed that she did not send any classified information and that no messages she sent or received were marked classified at the time.

TheState Department also said on Thursday that it fell short of its court-orderedgoal of releasing 43,000 pages of the trove by the end of the year.

To me, the big news here is that the Obama era State Department, in another example of its disregard for the courts – first under Hillary Clinton and now under John Kerry – has made public thousands fewer emails than it was ordered to produce.

You might wonder why I think of this as bigger news than the now-1,274 (and sure to rise) classified emails.

The reason is that I do not need a review of Hillary Clinton\’s emails to know they are loaded with classified information – any more than I need to see “CLASSIFIED” stamped on them (the lack of which is Clinton\’s beyond-lame defense.)

Neither do you.  And neither do mainstream media.

Hillary Clinton was the Secretary Of State for four full years.  She was the chief foreign officer of the United States of America.  OF COURSE she got classified information.  All the time.  And OF COURSE she got classified information before there was a “CLASSIFIED” stamp on it…unless you think that information, often very timely information, which passes to and from a Secretary Of State is held up until some wonk at State Department offices nails it with a stamp.

Anyone with the slightest bit of common sense knows this.  But when it comes to Hillary Clinton, and Hubby Bubba, common sense, all too often, goes straight out the window.  Which is one of the reasons why mainstream media have so successful in burying this huge scandal.

Hillary Clinton admits to deleting tens of thousands of emails.  Why? Because we\’re supposed to take her word for it that they just weren\’t relevant to us, not that they contained information that would embarrass her; that would make her look incompetent.  Devious. That it would give us further insight into what happened up to and during the Benghazi massacre.

What, in Hillary Clinton\’s history, would cause us to take her word for anything about anything?

And what, in mainstream media\’s history of covering the Clintons, would cause us to believe they would give this scandal more than the tiniest fraction of coverage it should get?
