Today’s New York Post has an editorial that goes into detail about an issue most of our media are – almost certainly for partisan purposes it saddens me to say – ignoring: the truly catastrophic Biden/Harris record on foreign policy.
You can read the entire editorial by clicking here – and I very much hope you do, because it is imperative that all of us are reminded of each debacle, one after the other through this administration’s 3 1/2 years (so far).
Here is how it begins:
If President Biden had any decency, he’d limit his United Nations speech Tuesday to two words: I’m sorry.
Kamala Harris should echo that.
Obama Defense Secretary Robert Gates once warned (all too rightly) that Biden had been “wrong on nearly every major foreign-policy and national-security issue over the past four decades.”
Over the past four years, Joe and Kam have continued that pattern, leaving the world facing its most perilous threats in decades.
Start with the disastrous bugout from Afghanistan, executed in blatant defiance of every military adviser and the plan left in place by the Trump team.
That bugout enabled the Taliban to triumphantly retake control of the country, humiliating America and seizing billions in weaponry our forces left behind — erasing all the progress made in 20 years of fighting.
It was downhill from there:
- Russia seized the opportunity to launch a fresh invasion of Ukraine as Biden signaled that, as a “minor incursion,” would be OK; our president then slow-walked aid and tied Kyiv’s hands on the use of US weapons.
- Iran ramped up its drive for nukes as Harris-Biden sucked up to the regime, ending key Trump-era sanctions that had strangled the Iranian economy and sending billions to Islamic Republic outright.
- Its cashflow restored, Tehran upped its funding of terror groups, and helped Hamas plan and launch the Oct. 7 massacre, triggering the Gaza war.
The editorial goes on to enumerate a host of additional foreign policy gaffes/disasters around the world; one worse than the next. It ends with this:
“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f – – k things up,” President Barack Obama reportedly warned years ago.
Sadly, America’s voters did just that in 2020, and now the entire free world is paying the price.
The Post has done us a service by reminding voters of what has happened, foreign policy-wise, during this astonishingly inept administration; how its mistakes and miscalculations have damaged our standing in the world, not to mention endangering world peace itself.
It would be nice if some of our other mainstream media would do the same…instead of finding ways to ignore or gloss over this stark reality.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen, though. Lapdogs do as their masters tell them.
