And remember again: this is the New York Times. Not the New York Post, not some conservative website, but the New York Times.
In previous blogs I have stated my expectation that Joe Biden will not be the Democrats’ presidential candidate this year. At this point, I would put the odds that they try to send him out for four more years at somewhere between nonexistent and infinity.
But who will replace him?
Before you answer, here’s what I would think is an interesting thought about Kamala Harris – who, at lest to me, is inarticulate, uninspiring and generally about as useful as a pair of brown shoes in a tuxedo shop: let’s not forget that she is “African American” (she isn’t*, but that’s the way she’s been sold) and a woman.
In the game of identity-politics-uber-alles that Democrats play, to dump her, therefore, is to risk alienating both Black and female voters. But to keep her is to put out someone who has virtually nothing to sell other than her alleged race and gender.
It will be fascinating to see how this plays out…
