THE BERGDAHL SCANDAL (CONT.) BIPARTISAN OUTRAGE

This one, even hardline Democrats are having trouble falling in line with.

Here are just a few excerpts from Michael A. Memoli and Lisa Mascaro\’s article in today\’s Los Angeles Times – a newspaper which as strongly supported Barack Obama throughout his presidency:

TheWhite House struggled Wednesday to quell a political storm inCongress over the trade of five Taliban leaders for Army Sgt. BoweBergdahl and to repair relations with Democratic and Republicanlawmakers outraged over the lack of consultation.

“Weall agree we are not dealing with a war hero…. There\’s a lot to beanswered here,” said (Senator Joe) Manchin, (D-WV) who said he remained “veryconcerned.”

Thefury in Congress was bipartisan, with some senior Democrats firingbroadsides as the White House sent emissaries to apologize to

“Ithink that they expected everybody just to fall in line,” saidSen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chairwoman of the SenateIntelligence Committee and one of those who received a personalapology from a senior White House aide.

This is cynical, 100% political, “who cares about the constitution or common sense or common decency, I\’ll do whatever the hell I feel like doing” action by President Obama may have been designed to take the heat off of his nonexistent performance, and blatant lies regarding VA hospitals.  But it has exploded into something 10 times worse – as it damn well should have.

Does this administration ever get anything right?  Do anything right?  And does it ever tell the truth about what it does?

I count the seconds until noon of January 20, 2017.
