There are currently reports circulating around the internet that Dr. Benjamin “Ben” Carson is going to announce he will seek the Republican nomination for President.
Mr. Carson is considered a brilliant neurosurgeon. If I had a neurological disorder (not the kind my wife occasionally accuses me of having when I forget something she asked me to do, but a real one) I would be thrilled if it were him in the operating room.
But he has never served a day in political office, never been a candidate for any such office, has no legislative experience, no foreign policy experience….well, I could go on, but I think, or at least hope, the point is clear.
For 6 years I have railed about what a lightweight Barack Obama is. And he is 100 times more qualified to be President than Ben Carson.
Why do otherwise intelligent, accomplished people make fools of themselves this way?
