This must end. It must end now.
The Supreme Court, even if it has to call a special session to do so, must end it immediately, before it affects primary voting, thus affects the 2024 presidential process.
Maine’s Secretary Of State, a hard-leftist named shenna bellows, unilaterally declared that Donald Trump cannot be on the state’s ballot in 2024. Her basis for doing so, she tells us, is the 14th Amendment’s “insurrection clause”.
The fact that Donald Trump has not been charged with insurrection, let alone tried or convicted of insurrection? No problem.
The fact that this is an action the constitution specifically allocates to the congress, not the individual states? No problem.
Hey, bellows is a hard leftist. So none of the rules apply.
As ridiculous and unlawful as Colorado’s removal of Trump from the ballot was earlier this month, at least they could pretend it was a judicial decision (made by a 4-3 vote of the state’s supreme court, every member appointed by Democrats).
But here, they can’t even pretend. It is a unilateral diktat by one Trump hater. Period.
And if they can do it, so can other state supreme courts and secretaries of state as well. So you can bet that, if not stopped, additional Democrat-controlled states are going to do the same.
The Supreme Court either puts an end to this insanity or it is complicit in the degeneration of The United States to third-world status.
The time to act is now.
