Suppose it was discovered that a major Republican fund-raising entity that claimed to be supported by massive small-amount donations from everyday people…
…was in fact getting its money from foreign donors, who faked the small-donation data? And was doing it for years. And was doing it for major political campaigns?
Do you think our media might find room for that in their reporting? Investigative efforts?
Well, everything I just posted is real. It actually happened, just the way I described it…except for one tiny detail. I cited the wrong political party.
And with few exceptions (one of them – remarkably to me, given its recent history – is the New York Times) – most of them seem happy to shove this major scandal right under the rug.

ActBlue is the engine behind nearly all Democratic small-dollar fundraising. It has processed billions of dollars in online donations. But a growing pile of evidence — from the New York Times, congressional investigators, James O’Keefe’s undercover reporters, and ActBlue’s own lawyers — now suggests the platform was a fundraising machine comprised of illegal foreign money and fake donors. Worse, internal memos show ActBlue’s leadership seemingly lied to Congress about how safe their vetting system really was.
