Reutiers/Ipsos conducted a poll over the weekend to see what is most on our minds. And guess what: terrorism is back on top, tied with the economy for #1.
Am I supposed to be impressed? I hope not.
What it means to me is that we, as a people,quickly forget about issues that are truly serious; issues that truly have the capacity to affect our lives….until the consequences of those issues are thrust in front of our faces.
If there are no more terrorist attacks for a few months, where do you think those poll numbers will be?
Remember, we are a country which spent months desperately worried about a few lanes being closed on the George Washington Bridge for less than a week.
And how much are media to blame for this? How much of our – I hate to say it but it\’s the truth – ignorance and stupidity, is the result of what media do and do not report about?
Keep \’em ignorant and you own \’em. It was never more true.
