A report has just come out that Syria – an implacable foe of Israel under bashar al-assad, and the recipient of major attacks by Israel since al-assad has been deposed – has offered Israel clearance of its air space to attack Iran.
Assuming the report is true, what does that tell you about its new leadership’s attitude toward Iran – an attitude, let’s remember, that parallels that of other Arab counties in the area.
Is this a classic case of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”?
Let’s hope that a) the offer is real and b) it is the start of a serious peaceful-coexistence status between these two countries.
